Hello everyone,

Welcome to day three of 90s week, today I have two albums and music videos to share with you, so let’s get started.

ALBUMS

The album I chose as number 6 is “All Eyez On Me” by 2PAC. The album was released in February 1996 and it sold 8,100,000. This is the first double album of original material in hip-hop history and it reached the top of the Billboard 200 album charts. To this day I consider this album a classic and an important part of hip-hop music history. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best rap album. A well known hit song from this album is “California Love”.

The album I chose as number 5 is “Toni Braxton” by Toni Braxton. The album was released in July 1993 and it sold 8,100,000 copies. Thanks to this album, Toni Braxton won three Grammy awards for Best new artists and for Best female R&B vocal performance for her song “Breathe Again”. This album quickly made it’s way to the top of the Billboard 200 and also it had Top 10 singles. Some of these singles were “Another Sad Love Song”, “Breathe Again” and “You Mean The World To Me”.

MUSIC VIDEOS

The music video I chose as number 6 is “Wonderland” by the English band, Oasis. The song was released on October 30, 1995 and it was written by the band’s guitarist and the main songwriter Noel Gallagher. The song reached number two on the UK Singles Charts and it sold 1.26 million copies in the UK. In the States, the song peaked at number 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks for ten weeks and it reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The single reached number one in New Zealand, Australia and Spain. The band were nominated for Best rock vocal performance by a duo or group.

The music video I chose as number 5 is “Vogue” by Madonna. The song was released on March 20, 1990. The single reached number one in over 30 countries making it Madonna’s biggest hit. The single was certified double platinum by the Records Industry Association of America for sales of 2,000,000 copies. “Vogue” became a hit in Europe as well for landing a number on spot on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles for eight weeks.
