A Blast From The Past! 90s week. (# 4)

Hello everyone,

Welcome to day four of 90s week, today I have one album and one music video to share with you all, so let’s get started.

The album I chose as number 4 is “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. The album was released in January 1999 and it sold 13,900,000 copies. This album defined the late 90s teen pop era and established Britney Spears as a pop sensation. The songs from her album are energetic and catchy, but she also has calm and mellow songs. Some of her energetic songs are “(You Drive Me) Crazy” and “Baby One More Time” and some of her more mellow songs are “From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart” and “I Will Still Love You”. There is a mix of bubblegum pop, a little bit of rap and dance inflections. This is one of my favorite albums by the Queen of Pop.

The music video I chose as number 4 is “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child. The song was released on November 7, 1999 in the States and it is considered as one their signature songs. The single earned a gold certification in the United States, a silver certification in France and 2x platinum certification in Australia. The single landed a number one spot on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and also on the Billboard Hot 100. Their hit single also won two Grammy awards for Best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals and for Best R&B Song.

Enjoy and see you tomorrow!
