Music Monday! Lorde – Yellow Flicker Beat.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday! If you are a Hunger Games fan then I bet you are pretty excited for the upcoming Mockingjay Part 1 movie in November. Lorde who made her debut with her single “Royals” is releasing a upcoming album and she is also making her  contribution to the Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. Lorde has this mysterious and eerie persona which makes her a perfect addition to the HG franchise. Not to mention that she mega talented and I love her songwriting abilities.

Here is a breakdown on what I think about the song: 1) the lyrics capture the story in the first part of the book quite well 2) the humming vocals are distracting and unnecessary 3) the rhythm and beat of the song is semi-upbeat. When I think of the Hunger Games, I imagine songs with a slower rhythm or something in between, this song has a good rhythmic balance. As for the lyrics, they make me think of how Katniss became the symbol of rebellion and she is transformed from the games. She is strong, but broken on the inside! People see her as a strong warrior from the games, but they do not realize that she is not that strong emotionally. Lorde always has a unique way of conveying a message with her unique songwriting skills and I like it. This is the kind of song that you won’t like at first, but then it will start to grow on you. I definitely had mixed feelings when I first heard the song, but I started to like it more as I listened to it. Lorde’s music is different from other musician’s music and I think this is what the music industry needed all this time. Time to set aside songs about clubbing, getting drunk and having sex, songs with meaning are making their comeback.

What do you guys think of the song? I would love to read your opinions and thoughts, so please share them with me 🙂

F.R.I.E.N.D.S 20th Anniversary!

On this day in 1994, the first episode of Friends made its debut on the big screen and our lives changed forever. Alright, maybe they didn’t change, but they became funnier thanks to six friends. Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Joey have put a smile on my face for years and made me want to have friends like them. I started watching the show in 1996 and I believe I was around seven years old. I have laughed so much until my stomach started to hurt. So today I decided to share with you my top 5 favorite ‘Friends’ moments, there are countless of great moments, so tough choices has to be made.

Let’s begin!

5. The Nap Partners.

You’ve got to admit that this one is pretty funny, especially when the gang finally catches them. I also find it funny when Joey tries to persuade Ross to do it again, gotta love Joey guys.

4. Halloween Party.

I loved the Halloween episode, everyone dressed up made it feel so festive and they were very funny. The icing on the cake was Ross and Chandler arm wrestling, Chandler sure is a sneaky one making everyone think he actually won. Poor Ross!

3. Joey Speaks French.

Correction, he spoke gibberish, but that was the funniest episode for me. I remember laughing hysterically when I watched him attempt to speak French, absolutely hilarious.

2. He’s Her Lobster!

Wasn’t this moment we were all waiting for when Ross declared that he loved Rachel, but then Rachel was dating Marco and before that getting over her broken “marriage”. After she broke up with Marco, Ross started dating and all of us were going crazy waiting for them to become a couple. So when they finally did, we all rejoiced! Rachel and Ross=Forever.

1. Paper, Snow, A Ghost!

You guys might think, “Really? That’s your number one choice?”, guys this is really funny to me. I don’t know why, but I burst into laughter more than when I watch the ‘Pivot’ scene (which is great btw).

I hope you enjoy this post and please share with me your favorite ‘Friends’ moments!

Music Monday! Lenny Kravitz – The Chamber

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday! If you are a regular follower of my Music Monday segment, then you know I already shared this Lenny Kravitz song. However, back in July the music video was not released yet, but now it is. I talked about the song in detail in that particular post, so here is the link (

The music video begins with a suspenseful classical music which adds an element of elegance to the music video. However, this music video was not marked ‘explicit’ for no reason, things start to heat up throughout the video. There is nudity, so you’ve been warned. Basically the whole video is Lenny and a model making out in a fancy hotel or apartment, but in the end he gets by her shot. Well that love story didn’t last very long! I have mixed feelings about the music video, I like the song a lot, but the video is not my cup of tea. I’ll give it 3/5, I am still looking forward to more music videos from his new album.

Lifestyle Sundays: Throw Judgement Out The Window!

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Lifestyle Sundays and today I want to discuss judgmental people and why a judgmental mentality is wrong. I think this will be more a rant, but I need to write down my thoughts somewhere and my blog is the best platform. Before I begin I would like to point out that I am not imposing my views on anyone, I am merely using my blog as a platform to express my thoughts. Let’s begin and you can join the discussion as well, but please don’t start arguing with each other in the comments box. That’s not cool or nice!

I have a confession to make, I used to be a very judgmental person when I was a teenager. I am very ashamed that I used to be this way, but as I got older I realized I have no right to judge another person’s life or choices. I don’t know them, I don’t know what they’ve been through, so it is incredibly ignorant to judge someone you don’t know or anyone you do know. What changed my entire mentality was a video I watched by a Canadian YouTuber about two years ago. Her video was similar to the post I am writing today and she was explaining she used to be the same way as I was, she also said some things that opened my eyes. On that day I made a vow to myself that I will never be judgmental ever again.

The reason why I got inspired to write this post is because of a friend. She is a good friend of mine, but she seems judgmental. I say this because of the way she speaks about certain things or people. That particular characteristic of hers reminds me of my old self, so I can’t help but get annoyed with the things she says sometimes. I have developed a strong dislike for anyone who may be judgmental. Not hate, but dislike. If this particular individual is my friend or a family member, I’ll try to put up with it, but I won’t enjoy their company as much. I like to surround myself with positive people, who don’t gossip about others and judge them.

Judgment can be seen anywhere nowadays, especially on the Internet. I watch YouTube a lot in my free time and it boggles my mind how critical people can be towards people they never even met in person. One of my favorite YouTube vloggers is “ItsJudysLife”, they are a family with three little girls. They are precious little angels and the family is very loving, but the amount of hate comments these people get is disgusting. People hiding behind a computer screen and critiquing the way the husband eats, the way they take care of the children and so much more. Judgement stems mainly from the different ideologies and beliefs we have about a situation, that’s why people begin to argue and critique. However, something needs to be taken into consideration: not everyone will think like you, not everyone will act like you, not everyone will do things the way you do…and that’s ok. I also think that imposing your will and beliefs on others is a form of judgment. Having a healthy debate about a certain topic is perfectly fine, but if the person tries to change your opinion then that’s not ok with me. No one should make another person feel bad for the things they like or the choices they make because the other individual doesn’t understand the person’s point of view. I actually have a family member who is like this and he turns everything into a debate. It is hard to get your point across because he always thinks he is right, also he is always negative towards other people’s interests. He actually told me once “If I don’t like then it’s stupid”, that kind of mentality is not healthy.

So you may ask me why am I writing about this topic? Well looking at how the world is right now I feel like majority of the issues come from trying to force an ideology or religion onto others. People/countries retaliate in a violent manner because of this mentality, however, it all comes from people’s minds. If we weren’t judgmental maybe we will live more peacefully and happily. I know it’s not as simple as it sounds, but if more people started to change their way of thinking then maybe the world would start becoming better. So if you have a judgmental personality, try to change that because it can affect your relationships with people. So throw the judgment away and try to accept people for who they are instead of trying to change them.

If you liked this post and you want me to write about similar topics like this one, let me know what you want me talk about in the comments box below.

Friday Funday! Would You Rather Beauty Tag.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Friday Funday! It is time for another another fun tag post because let’s face it, those are a lot of fun!

Enjoy and I tag you guys to do this tag too 🙂

1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?

My hair is very thick and frizzy when it’s not done, so I am going to pick ‘have nice hair and no make-up’. I have become more comfortable going out in public without makeup, I used to be self-conscious about it before because of my blemishes. However, now I have learned not to care about that, I am also giving my skin a break from foundations which are packed with chemicals (it’s true).

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

Ahh, I don’t even know what to pick because both options sound awful lol. OK, I think I’m going to choose the eyebrow one because with the power of makeup, you can just draw them 🙂 Voila, problem solved!

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?

Sephora for sure because it has more variety than MAC and it has different makeup brands. I’m not a fan of MAC because I’ve heard that the face products are not good for your skin and they create some skin problems.

4.Would you rather wear lip gloss/lip liner look or 80’s perm?

I will go for the lip gloss and lip liner look because I can try to make it look, well you know…less awful. As for the 80s perm, my hair big enough, it doesn’t need to be any bigger than what it is.

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

I always make sure my blush looks natural, so I rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line. I kind of did that when I first start using foundation, ahh the days when I was newbie to makeup.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?

Hey MC Hammer pants are cool, I would totally wear them! We’ll see how I feel about this 5 years down the line :S

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can’t be covered?

I rather have a bad orange-y spray tan because at least it is temporary, tan lines are temporary too but they last longer. I have bad tan lines on my feet from my sandals and they are always visible when I wear flats. Soo embarrassing :S
8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
I thought about this one for while and I kept changing my answer but I finally decided to pick a bad hair color. I’ll just recolor my hair and fix the problem.

9.Would you rather have YouTube or Twitter taken away forever?

I rather have Twitter taken away forever, I’m not overly attached to Twitter so I wouldn’t care. However, YouTube is life! Haha 🙂

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Well, how am I supposed to do my makeup if I had no makeup brushes, so mascara, out you go.

Music Monday! Tokio Hotel – Run Run Run

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday! Tokio Hotel fans (including myself), rejoice because they are officially back. It’s been so long and I was so thrilled to hear that they are working on a new album. It is about time and to give us a little treat, they released the music video for their new song, “Run, Run, Run”.

I was actually expecting a more upbeat, rockish song, so I was suprised to with the comeback single. “Run, Run, Run” reminds of their song, “Zoom In To Me”, I have mixed feelings about this song. It is more of a ballad and I like it, but I’m not a huge fan of Bill’s vocals in this song. Don’t get me wrong, I think he is a fantastic singer. However, I’m not sure I’m a fan of his high vocals here. I’m used to hearing his deep voice, so this was new to me. I’ll get used to it if I hear sing like this more often.

On the other hand, what I like about his vocals is that they are full of emotion. This is clearly seen and heard in this song. I’m usually a huge fan of any ballad songs from Tokio Hotel, I guess I just need to get used to this one.

Anyway, I do enjoy the song and I hope you guys will too.

See you soon and have a brand new “Friday Funday” post coming up!

International Wonderland! SHINEE – Everybody.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to International Wonderland! Wow, it feels like it’s been a while since I posted anything for this segment or maybe it hasn’t been this long. Well guys, I have an announcement to make, I caught K-pop fever. I’ve been listening to many K-pop bands and today I wanted to share my new favorite band, SHINEE and their song “Everybody”.

SHINEE is Korean pop band signed under S.M. Entertainment, the group consists of five members: Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin. The group debuted on May 25, 2008 with their single “Replay” and since their debut they have releases three full length albums, five mini-albums, one live album and many Japanese single releases. SHINEE is also considered a fashion icon, I can see why because whenever I watch their interviews, I think they looked very stylish.

Now let’s move on and talk about the song because it is quite amazing! The single was released on October 14, 2013, the first thing that caught my eye when I watched the music video was the choreography. I thought that the moves seemed a little bit similar to Michael Jackson’s dancing, but not the dance as a whole. Then I read that MJ’s former choreographer Tony Tiesta choreographed this dance and I suddenly felt very proud. Someone who has worked with a legend is now working with an international pop band. It gave me hope that music is recognized as universal thing because there are many wonderful musicians overseas. As for the the vocals, well these boys are right on point and they sing in perfect harmony. Their vocals are clear and they hit those high notes like pros, which they are. Usually when someone talks about K-pop music videos, they visualize lots of color and special effects. However, this music video was simplistic and not overwhelming for the viewers. SHINEE has captured my heart and I am their newest fan, I hope you guys enjoy this music video.

If you are a SHINEE fan, please share what is your favorite SHINEE song 🙂
