Friday Funday! Halloween Tag (Happy Halloween).

Hello everyone,

Oh boyyy, oh goody, Halloween is upon us yet again and I am so excited!!! How about you guys? Do like Halloween or not so much? Well I personally LOVE it because we get to dress up for a day and be someone we are not. I always envy actors/actress because they get to do that on a daily basis. Cosplayers get to do that often too because they go to conventions a lot, but for me that’s not the case. So when Halloween arrives, you bet I’ll be friggin’ excited!

I don’t know if I shared this story yet, but I will just in case I didn’t before. I immigrated to Canada in 2002 and a lot of the holidays and traditions in Canada were unknown to me. So one day I was casually walking down the street to go to school and suddenly I saw people dressed up. I thought “Wow, what is this? Have people gone crazy?”, I literally had no clue what was going on. Mind you that was in middle school, so as soon as I went to my homeroom class I went over to my teacher to ask her about this. She explained it to me and I remember feeling out of place because I didn’t have a costume. It sucked, but looking back on this moment now it makes me laugh and this is a funny story I tell people often.

Now I have a lot of plans for Halloween and I no longer feel left out, that makes me content. So today I wanted to answer the “Halloween Tag” questions because I mean why not, it’ll be fun!

So sit back, enjoy, grab some candy and happy reading loves!

Before I begin though, I want to share with guys my new Halloween nail art design and the pumpkin I carved yesterday!

Now let’s begin 🙂

1.Favorite Halloween movie?

I love Beettlejuice, the first time I watched it I was creeped out, but now I love it.

2. What age did you stop trick-or-treating?

I’ve actually never been trick-or-treating because we don’t celebrate Halloween in Bulgaria, but when I came to Toronto in 2002 I was 13 so I thought I was old for this 😦

3. Favorite Halloween costume you have worn?

I haven’t worn too many to be honest, I was a witch a few years ago, a goth vampire and an angel. Today I am going out with some friends and I’ll dress up as Batwoman, I chose this costume because I love Batman. I think that might be my favorite costume, I’ll share photos later on this weekend.

4. What are you going to be this year?

Haha as I mentioned above, I’ll be Batwoman wooohooo!

5. Do you like going to haunted attractions?

YES, triple times yes! I went to my first haunted house last weekend and I absolutely loved it.

6. Vampires or werewolves?

Uh-oh, that’s a tough question you guys,so I think I’ll choose both!

7. Favorite Halloween candy?

I love lollipops, just give me a pile and I’ll be very happy 🙂

8.Do you decorate your house?

Absolutely, for every holiday I decorate the house, but I put extra effort around Halloween and Christmas. It helps to put you in the Halloween spirit!

9.Least favorite costume

I don’t really have one, I can’t think of anything at the moment.

10.Have you ever repeated a costume and what was it?

Yes and it is my witch costume, I wore it last year at work (I work in a school) and this year I’ll wear it again. I’ll also share picture of this costume as well because it will look a tad different from last year.

11.Do you believe in ghosts?

12.Scariest Halloween?
I guess it would be this year because of the haunted houses I went to and I gotta say the clown one was not pleasant. I hate creepy clowns, but I ended up laughing in the end.

Please share with me below what you’ll dress up as this year and why you love Halloween!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

See you soon!

Music Monday! Spice Girls – Holler.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday! Today I’ll be sharing a blast from the past music video by the Spice Girls. I love the era when Ginger Spice was part of the group, but I also grew to love the group after Geri left. I’ve been listening to a lot of oldies lately and this one is a favorite of mine. I remember how much I loved the music video and I thought the girls looked badass. The different scenes were interesting and I thought they fit the image of each girl. I also really enjoyed the futuristic theme of the video, it was unique to see something with more effects and interesting settings.

Enjoy and tell what is your favorite Spice Girls song 🙂

Lifestyle Sundays! Step Out of Your Comfort Zone!

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Lifestyle Sundays! Last time I wrote a post about ‘throwing judgement out the window’ and it seemed like people enjoyed that post, so I decided to write similar post. However, this time we will discussing how to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. I’ve been really enjoying writing these life lesson posts and my biggest inspiration for them is my life and events occurring in my life.

So let’s begin the discussion and feel free to join me in the comments box below, I am always eager to hear what you guys have to say about a specific topic.

Life is all about evolution and change, we are constantly changing from the day we were born. Think of your life as your own story book, you are the author and each chapter is written by you. You hold the pen or pencil and you decide how each chapter is going to be written. It is up to you how the story will progress and what kind of events will take place in your life. However, sometimes there will be bumps along the road of writing, road blocks that will make you feel discouraged and sad. These road blocks will show up out of nowhere, but you have the power to pick up the pen and continue writing. Life is not easy, we grow up and we start to realize that, it is a sad realization. You don’t have to fall victim to its circumstances, because you are a warrior and you need to fight back and write the most beautiful story. Remember that after a storm a beautiful rainbow will come out. Of course, it takes some time for that happen and that means all of you and me need to work hard to get to that point in our lives.

“Everything you ever wanted is one step outside of your comfort zone”.

For the longest time I have thought about this quote and it made me think about how hard it is to take that first step outside of your comfort zone. It is a scary feeling because we fear failure and rejection, but shouldn’t we fear not trying. Does self-esteem come into play when we try to take a risk? Do feel like we are not capable of success like other people? What makes us so different from others, if other people can be happy and do what they love, why can’t we? A negative mindset needs to be eliminated because that’s one of our road blocks. Since I was a child I always had the “I can’t do it” mindset and my mother would get frustrated with me and tell me that I can. Neither of my parents think the way that I do, this is my very own special/stubborn characteristic. Now that I am in my mid-20s, I am getting really tired of it and I want to change. That’s why on New years Eve 2013, I decided that 2014 will be a year of changes and risk taking. I wasn’t planning on procrastinating and not following through with my plans because I finally felt ready to step out of my comfort zone.

When I came to Canada I was very outgoing, talkative and cheerful, but when I started getting bullied at school for having an accent and being a foreigner, I became introverted. I still had a few friends, but I started to become less confident in approaching others. I used to be the type that would walk up to people, tell them my name and start a conversation. That’s how I made friends, but ever since then I became more reserved and I stopped doing that! When I began university my goal was to change and become more outgoing, but I wasn’t very successful. I would become so shy and awkward in social gatherings because I didn’t know most of the people. My shyness started to upset me because it was a barrier and it wasn’t allowing me to be myself. Speaking of being yourself, the best way to open up and make friends is to be yourself. Anyway, one of my goals for 2014 was to step out of my shell and just be myself when I try to make friends. What’s the worst that can happen? They won’t want to talk you anymore? So be it, the right people will love you for who you are and will want to be your friend. This is when I stepped out of my comfort zone and now I feel more confident when I meet new people. It’s not that scary 🙂

My second story of me stepping out of my comfort zone is something I’ve talked about here on blog and it is my zip lining story. I am (I should actually write ‘was’) terrified of heights for the longest time, I live on the sixth floor in my building and I wouldn’t dare to look down from my balcony. However, recently I began to notice a change and my intense wish to become more fearless and adventurous. My friend and I were discussing how it would be fun to do the Edge Walk on the CN Tower, but we were both afraid of heights so we were hesitant. Later on, I discovered that there is a zip lining opportunity at a yearly carnival event in Toronto. Suddenly, I felt the strong urge to do so I told my friend about it and she agreed to try it out. I have spoken about this in greater detail in my other post, but to make the long story short, I did it. I went zip lining and the feeling was thrilling, I felt I like I could conquer anything as long as I face my fears. This was such a huge step out of my comfort zone, but I am so glad I did it because it boosted my confidence 100% and I encourage you all to face your fears. You will end up feeling empowered and that is the best feeling in the world, sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves and we need to do something to show ourselves how amazing we can be.

Now I am going to embark on another journey of stepping out of my comfort zone and that is to sign up for dance classes. One of my biggest dreams in life is to perform on stage, deep down this will be what I’ll always want to do. It’s like a light in me that cannot be suppressed and dimmed. However, when I arrived to Canada when I was 13 as I mentioned above, I became very reserved. This year I have chosen to go against that and fight it with all of my might because people can only change themselves and no one else. The thought of signing up for these classes is incredibly intimidating to me at the moment, dancing in front of others makes me very nervous. Deep down I know I can do this and that I am good at this, so I will try it out before the year ends. Trying out new things for the first time always seems scary and intimidating, but when you get used to it you will see that it’s not a big deal. Wish me luck 🙂

Also, guess what? Writing this post was another “stepping out of comfort zone” moment because I revealed some stuff about myself. Opening up is always scary, but I feel like I can share this with my amazing followers.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!

International Wonderland! 2PM – Go Crazy.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to International Wonderland, the segment that brings you international music! The song I’ll be sharing today is “Go Crazy” by the popular Korean pop band, 2PM.

I recently discovered this band and their energy is contagious, it made me get up and dance along too. Before I begin to talk about the song, I should give some background information about them.

2PM is a K-pop group that debuted in 2008 and it is managed by JYP Entertainment, the group’s public image differs from their K-pop peers. Majority of K-pop boy bands are known for the boyish good looks, but this group is depicted as the macho-type by emphasizing their masculinity. If you ask me, being the same as other groups is boring and it is nice to stand out and be different. The current member line-up is Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung. They made a comeback this year with their new single “Go Crazy” and an album that was released on September 15.

My first impression of this group was positive, I watched their live performances for this song and I was pleasantly surprised by their skills. So far when I’ve watched other K-pop stars perform they tend to rely lip syncing, not all of them but a certain percentage. The energy and charisma of 2PM was infectious and they seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. In addition, they dance and sing at the same time without lip syncing! It takes a lot of skill to do that and they made it seem effortless.

The music video for their comeback song is fun and it shows the boys having fun, dancing around and partying. The choreography is not your typical hip-hop routine, the dance is fun and silly. I’m gonna bust out those moves in the club 😉

Enjoy and partaeee too 🙂

Music Monday! Troy Sivan – Touch.

Hello everyone,

You know what’s one good thing about Mondays? Music Monday of course, who doesn’t love a good tune to get begin the new week on a positive note. Today I will share another Troy Sivan song from his amazing EP “TRXYE” and the song is “Touch”.

I am absolutely captivated by his voice, music and lyrics! In my opinion his EP “TRXYE” is flawless and if he releases an album it will be a major hit (I usually have a good gut feeling about these kinds of things). His singing sounds so effortless and I love the rhythm and the mysteriousness his songs make me feel. Troy if you ever since this post, please make more music because I am addicted 🙂

Let me know what you guys think of this song and enjoy!

See you soon!

International Wonderland! EXO – Overdose.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to International Wonderland, the segment that brings you foreign music weekly!

Guys I have a confession to make, I’ve been cheating on J-pop with K-pop…OMG. Ok, all jokes aside, K-pop has completely won me over and I literally can’t stop listening to it. To me K-pop is very unique and interesting, the music is great and the music videos are really well done. So today I want to share with you the music of my favorite K-pop boy-band, EXO. The song I’ll be sharing is “Overdose”, which is also the first song I heard by EXO.

EXO was formed in 2011 and it consists of eleven members: Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Lay, Chen and Tao. The group is divided into EXO M and EXO K, EXO M stands for ‘Mandarin’ and they go to promote and perform their new music in China. While EXO K focus on promoting and performing in Korea and occasionally all of the members together go to China to promote their music. Suho (leader), Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun represent EXO K and Xiumin, Luhan, Kris (leader), Lay, Chen and Tao represent EXO M. However, recently there have been changes to the member lineup with Kris and Luhan leaving the group. Both of them sued S.M. Entertainment for not being treated fairly and being overworked to the point of physical and emotional exhaustion.  No one knows if the claims are true, but this isn’t the first time S.M. Entertainment is sued by one of the artists they represent.

Aside from this drama, EXO are considered one of the fastest selling K-pop artist in twelve years. I was immediately drawn to their amazing dancing skills, they manage to be in sync perfectly when they perform. In addition, their vocal work is on point, they sing passion and power. Their music video for “Overdose” is like a futuristic realm with cool special effects and an eye-catching set. I am officially hooked, now the question is…are you?

Let me know if you are K-pop fan and if you are, what are some of your favorite K-pop bands?

Enjoy 🙂

See you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving! (Canadian Edition).

Hello everyone,

To my fellow Canadians, Happy Thanksgiving!!! When this time of the year comes, what are you thankful for? I find that we are usually thankful for the materialistic assets in our lives, but we have the tendency to forget about the small things. Seeing how chaotic the world has been lately, it made me feel more appreciative of the small things I have in my life. When we have these things taken away, we begin realize how essential they are in our daily lives. So this year I am choosing to be thankful for having a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, clothes to wear, a job and a safe country to live in. Last year we had an ice storm, as a result of that we had our power out for four days, our apartment was freezing. It made me think how I’ve been taking for granted having heat in my home, things like these need to be appreciated. This year has been an eye opener for many things in my life and I encourage you all to take a look at these small things in life and appreciate them more.

Here are a few pictures from the Thanksgiving feast I had with my family 🙂 Enjoy and tell me in the comments box below, what you are thankful for this year!
