Last month I got the chance to go to the Circus du Soleil: Kurios show in Toronto and it was an absolutely lovely experience. I’ve been hearing about them for years and when my friend told me she wanted to go, we immediately went to buy the tickets. This is not my first circus experience, when I used to live in Bulgaria and I was about 11 or 12 years old I went to the circus. I remember getting cotton candy and a candy apple, I enjoyed the clown performance, acrobatics and the animal tricks. As for this show, I was looking forward to see how different my experience will be as an adult.
I took some pictures while I was at circus and I want to share them with you, enjoy 🙂

Circus Du Soleil: Kurios!
I had a great time and I can’t wait to see the show next year! I actually took some videos of the show and I wanted to make a vlog video for you guys, but I’m having a hard time converting the files from quicktime to avi. If any of you know how I can fix that, I’ll really appreciated.
Welcome back to Music Monday! Today I’ll be sharing the song “Close Your Eyes” by a Canadian singer, Roxanna.
There are times when music help us deal with whatever we are going through in life, for me music has helped me get through a lot. This is one of those songs, a lovely touching ballad with lyrics that bring you strength. When I first heard the song in the summer, I thought it was the most beautiful song I’ve heard in a very long time. Mainstream artists do not appeal to me too much anymore, so when I find these hidden gems I cherish them and share them too. On her website Roxanna has written that music has a healing power and I couldn’t agree more. It really truly does! To find out more about Roxanna please visit her official website (http://roxannamusic.com/), her amazing talent needs to be shared!
Enjoy and I hope everyone is having a lovely Monday!
I am working on new exciting blog posts, so please stay tuned 🙂
Today is a good day, why you may ask? Well because the new G-Dragon and Taeyang music video was released. I am so addicted to this song, I’ve literally had it on replay all day. Many fans have been hoping that BIGBANG would make an official comeback, but this is what we get for now. According to recent news, BIGBANG are back in the studio working on their upcoming album. Not to worry, we know BIGBANG will come back like we’ve never seen them before, for now let’s enjoy this song.
One of my immediate thoughts when I heard the song is that it sounds very similar to “Turn Down For What” by Dj Snake ft. Lil Jon. However, this song has its own spin to it and it differs from “Turn Down For What” on many aspects. For instance, the music video for “Good Boy” shows many people coming together and partying. Basically a party at a nightclub! On the other hand, the music video for “Turn Down For What” is just…..weird, but let’s not discuss that today.
If I had describe “Good Boy” with one word, it would be…badass! I totally see myself jamming out to this song, it is incredibly catchy and it makes me feel energetic. This genre of music is called trap, it originated in 1990s and it is a combination of hip-hop, dubstep and dub (strong emphasis on repetitiveness throughout a song). When I first heard the song I felt a bit turned off because it reminded of Lil Jon’s song and I personally dislike it. However, I gave “Good Boy” a second a chance and now I think it is so much better than “Turn Down for What”. It is catchier and more unique, the music video is fun to watch too and I think GD and Taeyang did a great job. If I had to summarize what is happening in the music video, it would be this: catchy dance choreography, neon lights and crazy partying. I am surprised to see that there are many people who hate the song and say that they are disappointed. I personally like it and I’ll be jamming out to it for a looooong time!
Welcome back to Music Monday! I’ve been brainstorming all day trying to figure out what song to share and then I suddenly thought of “Perfect Day” by Hoku. It’s a ironic that I chose this song on the most hated day of the week, but we all need our Monday pick-me-up.
This is your typical bubblegum pop music song, it makes me smile and I just feel super duper happy when I listen to it. I first heard the song from the Legally Blonde Part 1 movie (one of my favorite chick-flicks), I thought it was super catchy. What do you think of this song?
Welcome back to International Wonderland! So I was listening to music the other day (more like everyday haha) and I realized that I haven’t shared one of my favorite J-pop band’s music on my blog. The band I am talking about is Girl Next Door and the song I’ll be sharing is “Drive Away”.
I started listening to this band in 2009, one year after they debuted and I love their music because it combines all of my favorite genres: pop, house, trance, rock and eurobeat. There isn’t one song I dislike by them and going off topic I have to add that the vocalist’s fashion style is awesome.
Now back to the band, there are three members: Chisa (vocalist), Daisuke Suzuki (keyboard) and Yuji Inoue (guitarist). Their debut single is “Guzen No Kakuritsu”, ever since they have released many singles and their self-titled album. However, their single “Infinity” which also the opening theme for the TV show “Atashinchi no Danshi”, helped them reach number one on the Oricon charts. This is actually the first song I listened to by Girl Next Door, I thought it was catchy and unique. On September 3, 2013 the band announced they will officially disband. This was disappointing news because I really enjoyed their music, but what they left behind will be treasured.
Let me know what you think about the song and enjoy 🙂
…and here is a quick snippet of their song “Infinity” 🙂
In Flanders fields the poppies grow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Today we are honoring the memory and military service of brave soldiers who fight and fought for peace! Risking their lives, so we can live in peace is the biggest act of bravery! I can only imagine how difficult it can and was for soldiers to go through this on a daily basis. Your bravery hasn’t gone unnoticed and thank you for everything you’ve done in the past and present. I’m also remembering my grandfather who was a veteran in the WWII! I would always listen to his soldier stories as a child and he was and still is my hero!
Call me crazy, but I imagine a world without violence, without people being killed for nothing. Despite what happens today, I will continue to believe that one day the world will be peaceful. As John Lennon sang, I imagine all the people sharing the world!
Welcome back to Music Monday! So I have to admit that I haven’t been keeping up with American mainstream music for a while, but I do listen to it and I make sure I know all about any new songs. I’m just going through a K-pop phase right now and I’m not sure when it will end. I keep discovering new K-pop artists every week and I can’t seem to stop listening to their music. However, one of my friends told me about a new Selena Gomez song and the music lover that I am, I had to check it out.
The song I am talking about is “The Heart Wants What It Wants”, correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is the first time Selena released such a person song. It’s always a difficult thing to show your vulnerable side to people, but she did it beautifully. The introduction of the song brought tears to my eyes, this song has so much emotion and it felt like Selena’s diary. This song is obviously about her relationship with Justin Bieber, the emotional journey of them getting back together, breaking up and then the same pattern repeating. The black and white music video is a nice touch to match the melody and emotion of this ballad. The lyrics are beautifully written as well, for example:
You got me scattered in pieces
Shining like stars and screaming
Lightning me up like Venus
But then you disappear and make me wait
And every second’s like torture
Hell over trip, no more so
Finding a way to let go
Baby baby no I can’t escape
Such a beautiful song, I can’t wait to hear more ballads by Selena in the future, she has potential as a musician.
