Friday Funday! Top 5 YouTube Musicians.

Hello everyone,

Weeee, it’s Friday and it is also time for another Friday Funday post!

Isn’t it a great feeling when you open gifts on Christmas day? Well that’s how I feel when I discover a new musician, I think of it as starting a new relationship. From listening to every song to buying concert tickets whenever the musician announce he/she are going on tour.

So today I decided to share with you some of favorite YouTube musicians, there are so many and more people need to know about them.

Let’s begin!

5. Max Schneider. (

I discovered his music from “FromHeadToToe’s” (a beauty guru on YouTube) lookbook video! In the music scene, Max Schneider is referred to as MAX and this year he got signed to Pete Wentz’s record label DCD2. His song “Streets of Gold”  has that infectious catchy pop music sound, so I was instantly hooked. I went to explore his YouTube channel and I fell in love with his original music and song covers. If you are looking for an artist who plays pop music, this is the one for you! The song I’ll share is “Streets of Gold”, it is so lovely.

4. Daichi Beatboxer. (

Yes, beatboxing falls under the category of music! I am usually not a big fan of beatboxing, I have nothing against, but Daichi turned me into a beatboxing lover. Daichi is a Japanese beatboxer and I found his channel when I was searching for Attack on Titan music (a Japanese anime show). His charisma has a lot to do with my decision of listening to his beatboxing. He is always smiling and seems to be having fun. I can imagine that beatboxing can be quite tiring, but he does it so well. If you like beatboxing and you are looking for someone new, check out Daichi’s channel. Thumbs up for how many time I said beatboxing in this paragraph (sarcasm implied) haha.

3. Pellek Official. (

I already talked about Pellek on my blog about a week ago, but I had to include him on this list. He is Norwegian rock/metal performer who records song covers and also has original content on his YouTube channel. His music range is off the charts and the creativity of his covers is always impressive. That’s not all, he also sings in different languages i.e. Japanese, French and Spanish. He is making rock/metal music extra special and unique!

2. Lindsey Stirling. (

Let’s take a spin on classical violin music and make it more modern! Well, Lindsey Stirling knows exactly how to make that happen and she does it well. I have a thing for modern violin music, to me it is very powerful, emotional and soothing. Lindsey knows how to make it sound unique and deliver stunning music videos. She is not just standing there and playing violin, she putting on a show. I like to think of it as classical music meets Circus Du Soleil and this is especially evident in the music video I’ll share below. On the other hand, also deliver a different themes. I think it’s safe to say that I am obsessed!

1. Pentatonix. (

This…I can’t even find the right words for this group because they are just so INCREDIBLE!!! Pentatonix is a cappella group (solo singing without any instrumental accompaniment), they record covers and they also have their own original music. The group formed in 2011, they appeared on NBC’s show, The Sing Off. Pantatonix won and got a recording contact with Sony Records. However, shortly after their appearance on the talent show, Pentatonix was dropped by the label and they started their own YouTube channel to promote their music. Now Pantatonix has about seven million subscribers with an overall of 842 million views. The group released their debut album EP PTX Volume I in 2012 and they release PTX Volume II, debuting number one on the Billboard Independent Album Chart. One the biggest accomplishment for this group is winning a Grammy for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for “Daft Punk” at this year’s Grammy Awards.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Please let me know which one of the YouTube musicians you are planning to watch. Have fun listening to their music 🙂

Now it is time for me to go and watch some Boy Meets World episodes, see you soon lovelies!

Music Monday! John Legend ft. Common – Glory

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday!

It is Black History Month and I thought today’s song is a perfect fit. As you can tell from the title, the song I’ll be sharing is “Glory” by John Legend and Common. The song is part of the Selma movie soundtrack, “Glory” also won an Academy Award for Best Song. According to Common, this song is meant to be inspiration, but also portray the pain and hope. This beautiful song shows the fight for justice and equality, unfortunately we still live in a world where prejudice is prevalent, However, in the next 20 years I hope to see a big change for our future generations and change will begin when we advocate for our rights.

I hope you enjoy this video 🙂

See you soon!

IceFest 2015 (Toronto)!

Hello everyone,

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I attended an ice sculpture event in the city that was spectacular, I was very impressed by everything I saw. It was a very snowy day, but it fit in well with the theme of the event. I took a few photos and I want to share them with you all!

It was cool to see all of the sculptures, the amount of detail is quite impressive. There will be many more photography posts coming up soon, so stay tuned.

Have a lovely Sunday evening and a great start to the week!

See you soon lovelies!

Japanese Food Galore!

Hello everyone,

Last weekend I decided to go outside, despite the cold weather and visit my favorite Japanese grocery store, Sanko. I was so excited when I found this store last year and now all of the Japanese food I want is within arms reach. They have everything you want, curry, onigiri rice balls, ramen packs, Japanese sweets and kitchen utilities.

Today I want to share with you some of the stuff I bought, I usually enjoy reading or watching videos about Japanese food hauls, so I thought Japanese lovers will enjoy this too.

So let’s get started with this fun shopping haul!

I think it’s safe to say that I am drooling as I am looking at this picture, well not really, but you guys get the point.

DSC00397This is sooo delicious, this is like a red bean pancake sandwich! Red bean sweets are a popular Japanese sweet treat and it doesn’t taste like beans at all. It has a nice sweet flavor that’s not super overpowering, like some American or Canadian sweets. They had other flavors too i.e. red bean with chestnuts, but I prefer the original.

I love Japanese curry, the traditional curry is made with potatoes, carrots and a meat of your choice. Since I stopped eating meat, I make this with potatoes, carrots and of course we can’t forget about the rice. It is a  wholesome meal and it is mouthwatering!

If I read the word crispy on a food package, then it will make its way into my shopping cart for sure! I love rice balls, but I got extra excited when I read they are crispy. I haven’t tried them yet, but when I do I will let know how they are (I bet they are going to be delicious!).

Rice onigiri are very popular snack, they are rice balls wrapped in seaweed, if you go to Japan you can find them at convenience stores. Onigiri have different fillings, the ones I got are salmon, pickled mustard leaf, spicy tuna mayo and enoki mushrooms. They are so yummy and always buy at least seven or ten.

This is another popular snack in Japan, dango is a sweet dumpling made with rice flower and it is often served with green tea. They are so chewy and sweet, the one I bought is mitarashi dango. Mitarashi dango is covered with sweet soy sauce glaze, you can’t taste the soy sauce at all. There also other kinds of dango, such as:

Hanami Dango. Hanami means flower viewing and this dango is made during the cherry blossom season in Japan. When the cherry blossoms bloom in the Spring, many people in Japan go to the park and to have a picnic. It really is lovely and a great way to spend some quality time with friends and family.
Goma Dango. Goma dango are rolled in sesame seeds and they have a red bean paste filling. They are the perfect combination of sweet and salty.
Kibi dango. Kibi dango are made of millet flour, sticky rice flour and sugar.

These are just of few, but there are so much more.

I usually get another  sesame salad dressing, but they didn’t have it in stock, so I bought this one instead. It is also tasty and it creamier than the other one I usually buy, it adds a nice flavor to salads.

I squealed when I saw they had this at the store, this the very popular red bean snack called Taiyaki. Taiyaki can also have other fillings such as custard, chocolate, cheese or sweet potato. I’ve never had it and I am sooo excited to finally try it!

I LOVE Pocky, the first time I ever had it was when I went to my second anime convention. Whenever I go to Sanko, I always buy a few boxes of Pocky and this time I wanted to try some new flavors. The Berry Carnival and Coconut Pocky are flavors I’ve never had before, I tried the berry carnival and it tastes amazing. I’ve had the almond crush and I love the combination of almonds and chocolate. As for the coconut Pocky, I still need to try it but I bet it tastes amazing.

DSC00405First of all, can we talk about the adorable packaging? I’m not going to lie, I bought these chocolate candies because of the packaging. However, I knew they would taste amazing and I was right. On the box it looks like the chocolates are covered with powdery chocolate, but they are not. They are tiny with an absolutely delicious strawberry filling, the chocolate is not too sweet and it does not overpower the taste of the strawberry. I need to go and restock soon, these are amazing.

Yet again another yummy red bean dessert and these one have powdered sugar on top. The green one is green tea and I think the pink one is Sakura flavor, but I am not 100% sure. However, I am sure that these are so delicious! I’ve said that about every food item I posted, but it’s the truth.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post, if you want to see more Japanese inspired post please let me know in the comments box.

Happy Friday and see you soon 🙂

International Wonderland! 4MINUTE – Crazy.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to International Wonderland, the segment that brings you foreign music videos. Today I’ll be sharing 4MINUTE’s comeback single, “Crazy”.

4MINUTE was formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment, the group has four members: Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, HyunA and Sohyun.

The group’s debut single was “Hot Issue”, since then 4MINUTE has released many singles and even a Japanese album titled “Diamond.”  4MINUTE have also received the Bonsang Award at the 20th Seoul Music Awards and the Kpop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards.

This Sunday 4MINUTE made their comeback with an electrifying hip-hop single, that takes you back to the group’s hip-hop roots. “Crazy” was released on February 8th and it already has two million views. This comeback is fierce, with a black and white music video, catchy tune and funky moves, this song will make you hit the replay button all day long. I personally listened to this song non-stop since the day it came out, in fact it is the only song I’ve been listening to. In this music video we see the girls wearing stylish sportswear and bucket hats with their names on them. Each girls channels out their inner fierceness and badass persona, even the timid Jihyun with rubbing her hands up and down on the female dancers’ bums. Yes, this video has a lot of “wow” factor and I cannot get over it! Once you listen to this song, you will not be able to look back and it could potentially turn you into a Kpop lover.

Are you ready to get Crazy? Have fun listening to this addictive track, well done 4MINUTE, well done!

See you soon!
