Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone,

Merry Christmas!!! I wish everyone all the best and to have a fabulous day filled with lots of laughter.

The power is still out in my building, but thankfully I can stay with family members for the night. I will be writing a blog post about the ice storm and my power outage experience.

Have an awesome Christmas Day my dear followers!

See you soon!

Music Monday! Week 33.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music Monday, I am currently writing this post on my phone whilst it is charging at Starbucks at a mall. We had a ice storm in my city on Saturday and the aftermath is power outage, hence why I’m at Starbucks charging my phone. However, power outage will not stop me to post my weekly music video. When there is a will, there is always a way.

Christmas Eve is tomorrow and in honor of the holidays, the video I’ll share today is “All Alone On Christmas” by Darlene Love. Does that title ring a bell? Yes, this is a song from the Home Alone 2 soundtrack. This is my all time favorite Christmas song and I wanted to share it with you all.

Darlene Love is an American singer and actress who gained popularity back in 1960 with her single “He’s a rebel.” The genre of songs she sings are jazz, pop, soul and rock. Darlene Love was chosen for induction on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays everyone 🙂

p.s. I will be writing a longer post about the ice storm and share pictures, some time this week.

Friday Funday! Holly Jolly Tag♥

Happy Holidays my lovely followers,

Christmas decorations, Christmas movies, Christmas music, lots of snow and hot chocolate, it is indeed beginning to look like Christmas. Christmas is my all time favorite holiday, I always feel very happy around this time of the year.  Next week it is Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I thought it was very appropriate to do the Holly Jolly Tag which is very popular on YouTube. I tag everyone of my followers to go ahead and do this fun tag too.

Enjoy 🙂

1. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until the last minute?

I usually wait until the last minute, but this year I am more disciplined. I started my Christmas shopping the first week of December. I finally finished my Christmas shopping yesterday.

2. If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be?

Hands down Home Alone, for me this is the greatest Christmas movie, it is fun to watch it and I think it would be fun to go along the adventures with Kevin (minus the bandits).

3. Which do you like better: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

I like them both, but I personally prefer Christmas Eve because of the fond memories I have from my childhood. As most of you know by now, I wasn’t born in Canada, but in Bulgaria, we never had Christmas Day dinner. On the other hand, we always had a huge Christmas Eve dinner with my family and extended family members. After the dinner the adults would chat and the kids would play and then at midnight we would open presents. Occasionally, there were times when we would open gifts in the morning.

4. When does your family put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it?

Back in Bulgaria we always used to put it up on the 21 or 22 of December, but ever since we came to Canada we starting putting it up either the first or second week of December.

5. White lights or colored lights?

This one is tough because I love them both, but I lean more towards colored. They add a fun element to the tree and it seems more fun and festive. However, I would use white lights if I wanted my tree to look more sophisticated.

6. Are you guilty of peeking at your presents or do you like the surprise?

As much as I want to peak, I try not to do that because I like to be surprised. It makes Christmas morning a lot more fun when it is a surprise gift.

Tumblr7. Would you rather live in a gingerbread house or in Santa’s Workshop?

Oh come on, both of these options sounds awesome, but I would rather live in a gingerbread house. I’ll have sweets to eat all the time haha.

8. Tell us your Christmas Eve traditions!

On Christmas Eve my family gets together and we cook a huge dinner, there has to be 9 dishes and all of them meatless. However, we kind of modified that rule and add different kinds of salami on the table. The cooking process usually takes up most of the day, so around 7 o’clock or 8 we sit down and have dinner. Before dinner we usually have small appetizers for anyone who might get hungry earlier in the day. Then we sit down and talk or watch a Holiday movie. Sometimes we open the gifts at midnight, but now we prefer to get together in the morning and open the gits. I am also planning to start a new tradition and prepare a festive Christmas breakfast. Besides that a tradition I follow every year for myself is to watch the Disney parade.

9. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be?

My crush, that would make the holidays even more special.

10. What tops your tree?

A sparkly golden star 🙂

11. Can you name the 12 days of Christmas?

Nope lol.

12. Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?

Never, but I want to try it one day.

13. Do you countdown to Christmas? If so, how many days are left?

Not really, I just wait patiently for the day to arrive.

14. What are some foods and treats you can count on having every holiday season?

Candy canes, peanuts/pistachios and hot chocolate.

15. How has Christmas kept its magic for you as you’ve grown older?

It’s true that when you grow up Christmas feels a little bit different, but for me one thing that maintains the Christmas magic is spending the holidays with my family. It gives me a nostalgic feeling of the old days, but we can also make new memories. Spending the holidays with people that you love can always keep the Christmas magic. Also let’s not forget classic Christmas movies, yummy treats and fun Christmas music.

Lifestyle Sundays! Christmas Centerpieces For Your Home.

Hello everyone,

It is that magical time of the year again, Christmas! I always get so excited for Christmas decorations, hot chocolate, classic Christmas movies and Christmas gifts. When I was little I thought Christmas was about receiving gifts, but now that I’m older Christmas became about giving to others and spending time with your loved ones. One of the things that I love about Christmas are the decorations, I always go a little bit overboard when it comes to decorating the house.

In today’s post I wanted to share with you ways to spice up your apartment or house with Christmas decor under $20. I think all of us like to save a little bit of money, so most of the items I will share with you are from the Dollar Store and few from the Superstore (the Canadian Target).

Let’s get started!

This is a very simple centerpiece, all you need is a round vase like this one or any other style that you like. Second, you need some Christmas ornaments, in here I have red ones and some small pine cones.
This is my favorite centerpiece, basically it is the same idea as the first one, but this time you add poinsettia flowers. These are artificial ones from the Dollar Store.
This centerpiece is also an easy one to do, all you need is Christmas ornaments and on the outside you have wrap the vase with a sparkly garland. You can also use a Christmassy ribbon.
When I was creating this centerpiece I ran out of ornaments, I have some in the vase but not many to fill up the vase to the top. So I decided to take some garlands, cut them up into small pieces and put them in the vase. I thought it looked pretty cool and festive.
This not a centerpiece, but I wanted to share my Christmas decor. If you have a small narrow bookcase like I do, or a fireplace, you can add a long narrow Christmas table runner. At the Superstore, I found these super cool holiday blocks and I just had to buy them. You can add these types of blocks or you can buy a little festive sign that says”Merry Christmas”. You can find a lot of these signs at the Dollar Store, the last thing you will need is a Christmas candle and a candle decoration. This candle decoration can be half a Christmas wreath or a poinsettia wreath.

I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas ideas, if you have any that you would like to share, please do so 🙂

Happy Holidays everyone and stay tuned for new posts coming up this week.

See you soon!
