Music March! Kpop Week|Sojung – Stay Here.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Kpop Week!

Today I will be introducing Sojung a member of the South Korean group Ladies Code and her song “Stay Here”.

Sojung has a golden voice in this song she manages to convey her emotions and her desire to open her heart like a flower blooming just in time for spring. This is an R&B inspired track with a soulful twist.

Sojung was first discovered on the Korean version of The Voice, she wowed the judged with her soulful and jazzy vocals. Let’s just say she has a unique and distinct voice. In 2013, she debuted as part of Ladies Code formed by Polaris Entertainment. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the group in 2014 when the girls got in a car accident after leaving a scheduled performance. The tragic event took the lives of two members, after a year and a half hiatus the girls returned in March 2016. Sojung made her solo debut in May 2017 and now she is back.

I am happy and proud of how well the girls are doing and I hope to see many more solo releases from Sojung.

Let me know what you think about this beautiful song!

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

The group consists of nine members, Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Taeha, Nayun, Daisy, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy.

Their new song Bboom Bboom has taken over South Korea and everyone is singing and dancing to this song. It’s a catchy tune and signature dance moves prove that this single is new “Gee”.

I think these girls have a bright future ahead of them. What do you think?

Music March! Indie Week

Hello everyone,

It looks like I let my responsibilities in my personal life take over, therefore, that is why I haven’t posted anything from Thursday to today. My apologies, that’s why today I will post the Indie songs I’ve chosen for Thursday to Sunday in today’s post.

Rest assured this won’t happen next week with my Kpop countdown!

Now let’s begin.

Young Mister is a US-based singer and songwriter accompanied by a band of talented musicians from across the southeast United States. He travels from coast to coast to build a fanbase. This song has a fresh sound with strong and expressive vocals.

Tom Speight is a London-based singer and songwriter, there isn’t too much information regarding him and his work. However, he seems to go on tour a lot and always works hard to release new music. This is an upbeat, and happy song about running away with a lover and having an adventure.

Wildermiss is an indie rock band based out of Denver, CO. Emma Cole (Vocals/Keys) joins past Red Fox Run members Josh Hester, Seth Beamer, and Caleb Thoemke to create music that has a retro upbeat energy.

According to this musician’s website, this is what is stated in the bio section:

SYML is the moodier solo venture of Barcelona frontman and Seattle native Brian Fennell. As SYML, Fennell is more textural and sensory than Barcelona’s piano rock, framing his quiet, introspective songwriting in low-key synth-augmented soundscapes with austere piano parts and spectral vocals.

I hope you enjoyed these songs and my apologies for falling behind the posting schedule, this won’t happen next week. Also, next week is Kpop week, so Kpop lovers stay tuned for this.

See you soon!

Music March! Soundtrack Week | Tears of The Sun (2003) – Main Theme.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Music March!

Today for Soundtrack Week, I’ll be sharing the main score from the movie, Tears of the Sun!

The movie was released in 2003 and it is about the fallen Nigerian Government, and how the country is on the verge of war. When it comes to movies like this one, the acting is so important but the soundtrack also makes the movie complete.

The score captures the essence of this movie, the tragedy of war and the emotions it emits. The composer of this score is by Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky and Lebo M. Hans Zimmer is known for creating masterpieces that are timeless, there is signature sound to his work. If you listen to a lot of Hans Zimmer compositions, you just know when it’s his creation.

This melody, melancholic, heartbreaking, and struggling against injustice. It’s interesting how music can create such emotions.

I hope you all like today’s song choice, let me know what you think in the comments below.

See you soon!

Music March! Soundtrack Week | Game of Thrones – Against All Odds.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to the first official post of Music March, we are introducing the first song choice for soundtrack week. My choice for today is Against All Odds from Game of Thrones.

I have to thank Ramin Djawadi for composing beautiful masterpieces. The Game of Thrones soundtrack is moving and it makes you feel every emotion. Whether it’s sadness, despair, loneliness, or strength. Ramin Djawadi knows how to move the audience with his music.

The instrumental I chose to share with you all was a beautiful song from Season 7. Against All Odds is taken from the scene where Jon Snow and his crew are completely surrounded by the White Walkers. The sequence of this scene shows the audience their fierce battle, that slowly turns to losing hope, and quickly to strength when Daenerys arrives.

Everything about this instrumental is perfection, the melody is strong and inspiring. It conveys the emotions Jon Snow was going through when he was fighting to the death. Sometimes I listen to this to inspire me during the day, or when I have to do a difficult workout.

What is your favourite instrumental from GoT? It’s hard to choose, but I would love to read your responses.

Enjoy the song and see you tomorrow!
